		<description>Because the timer is not exact, the updates will &#039;drift&#039; WRT clock time.  So, if you are showing a clock with seconds, one update might be at 2:00:01.49, the next might be at 2:00:02.51, and the clock display will change by &#039;2&#039; when only 1 second has past - that is, the clock can be in error by as much as the SPIN_PERIOD.  So, the example above gives you a clock display that updates every second, with an error of +/- 0.1 seconds.  If you update get rid of the SPIN_PERIOD, it will update every second, with a potential error of +/-1 second, which might not be a problem for you...</description>

Nice post on using message loop for an approximate timer.  Can I ask why you&#039;re spinning the timer every 100ms rather than simply sending a message every REFRESH_PERIOD?
