6:59 AM by Shane Koyczan
I’ve been told
that people in the army
do more by 7:00 am
than I do
in an entire day
but if I wake
at 6:59 am
and turn to you
to trace the outline of your lips
with mine
I will have done enough
and killed no one
in the process.

well after a solid 6 months of nothing i thought i’d post this.

i’ve been spending the last few months trying to hone and mature my bike building skills. with a desire to get into custom cruisers and spend more time on the artistic side of cycling i thought i’d try a little side project. it started out as a red, rusty 1960’s CCM Charger that had been hanging in a garage sine the 70’s and came out a bubble gum pink low rider with the sickest ape hanger bars i have ever mounted on a bike.

this is just the beginning, something to cut my teeth on. i have my mind set on doing a utility cruiser next with flat black and lime green highlights.
know anyone who wants a bike restored and customized? send them this way!!!!!!!!!!!!!
peace!

after 10 days in haiti with my good mate caroline i have returned home. the hardest part of going away always seems to be coming back. haiti was a blast! met up with some friends doing humanitarian work in haiti and we all spent the week travelling around and taking in some of the local culture around port au prince. thanks to friends old and new that i ran into on the trip around the island.

while going over some photos from the archives i stumbled upon this beauty. while the subject matter itself isn’t anything spectacular the colors and textures give it that “painted” look.
shot using a canon markIV, 85-200mm (120mm) canon lense

the first time i laid my hands on my friends holga i noticed something different immediatley. it was much heavier than mine and much much tighter. no loose lens ring or film winder that keeps going backwards. upon further inspection i noticed her camera was the mac daddy of all holgas. the gcfn with a four color flash. the gcfn holga 120 has everything. foam padding in the film holder, 4 color flash and a ratcheting film advance wheel. i knew that i had to start saving up the pennies and get my hands on one of these. a few weeks later i found myself looking at new holgas online. i decided on the custom camo holga gcfn 120 camera. i had to wait a while for it but it finally arrived. this is bad ass. everything is so much sturdier and heavier. the weight makes it feel less like a toy and more like a camera should with the advantage of not shooting like a normal camera. i’ve already snapped off a few pics around the house to try out the shutter and play with the lens. feels good. i’m interested to see if this one has nasty light leaks like my older one. this film won’t last a day so i’m sure i’ll find out soon.

peace out!

fellow holga fanatic krista (aka starbux) and i did a camera cammando mission through victoria park during ribfest. amongst the many laughs and hours of people watching we were both able to snap off a few nice shots. this little statuette was on a balcony next to victoria park. the film was a fuji color 120 (exp. oct 2007).

peace out!
