Hey everyone, I’m going for a road ride tomorrow afternoon around 1pm. Ride will be to Stratford tomorrow, and on Sunday perhaps Elora. Reply here or send me an email at timothymburton@gmail.com or my cell is 519.404.9217. I’m meeting Trevor for what will hopefully be a quick fix at Erb and Fischer Hallman, but I will go to the PAC first if people would like me to.

Riding the hydrocut this saturday (oct 31) leaving SLC parking lot at 2:00pm. Ride will be a fun but fast pace so we don’t freeze.

With the cold weather and dark days coming back to Southern Ontario, we’d like to invite you and your family back to the Forest City Velodrome. We’ve made some improvements we hope you’ll appreciate, and with the economy the way it is these days we’re offering a special to returning members: unlimited riding for two months, including bike rental if you need it, for $100. If you decide you would like to stay on after 2 months, a second $100 installment gets you riding through to the end of February.
Over the last few months, we have improved both the men’s and the women’s change rooms and showers. We have also increased the temperature during busy nights by 4 degrees and installed ceiling fans to help the circulation of warm air through the building. This winter we have increased our opening hours, so you can ride 7 days a week and we’ve added new types of sessions: recreational sessions for those wanting to keep fit and have fun at a relaxed pace; skills sessions for those wanting a bit of a challenge and some interesting variations, still at a relaxed pace; dedicated coached women’s sessions biweekly, “winter training” for those looking to put in high quality base miles at steady, higher speeds; 3 hours of youth training on Saturday afternoons, interval sessions for “sportif” riders wanting to test their speed and strength, structured quality workouts for those wanting to train at an elite level, and of course Saturday night racing of the uniquely inclusive sort the FCV is famous for, where everyone from 12 to 70 gets a chance to show their stuff.
We would like to see you return and enjoy riding indoors through the winter.

There will be another ride this Wednesday, same time, same place (5:00 @ the PAC parking lot). Same idea as last time, we ride at a pace everyone can keep up. One and a half to two hours.
Friday ride cancelled… unless someone else wants to organize one.
*It is a good idea to bring lights to rides now. At the minimum a red rear blinky.

Hi everyone,
After seeing the large difference in ability out on the road yesterday I think a lot of people would benefit a great deal from a group riding skills session. Topics to be covered would include but not limited to:
following a wheel (drafting)
single line paceline
double line paceline
echelon
high speed cornering
bumping and clipping
obstacle avoidance
If you are interested please reply here so that I can work out a date if you are able, or if not send me an email at timothymburton at gmail . com
